It's the last stretch of putting my book together. The interiors are printed and picked up and I'm slowly hand cutting and stapling every cover.
The things nobody notices are the things I love spending that extra time on getting right. With the proof copy I used plain old metal staples and my trusty long arm stapler. I could have just finished the book, the same way I have for years. But I want the book to be as close to perfect as I can make it, so I ordered a saddle stapler that gets the staples in the right place every time and spent quite a bit of time researching the best black staples so the book looks seamless.
If it's worth doing it's worth doing right.
